For the first time, the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and its strategic partner, Emerging Capital Markets Association (EMPEA), held its inaugural Asia Private Equity Forum on January 19, 2011, in conjunction with the Hong Kong's major financial flagship event, the Asian Financial Forum.
More than 30 distinguished speakers who are leading practitioners in Asia gathered to share knowledge of their markets in China, India, South East Asia and Central Asia. For the 240 participants from across the continents from China, US, Canada, India, Europe, Russia, Australia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and South East Asia, it proved to be a worthwhile day in understanding the opportunities and challenges in each of the markets, and in very useful networking.

The Gala Dinner was a complete sell out! It was a great way to kick off the New Year and to celebrate with colleagues and friends in the industry. The newly formed Young Professionals in Asian Private Equity as MCs set the fun mood for the evening.
200 guests were treated to energetic and impressive dance performances by the Society of Boys Centers talented adolescents.

HKVCA co-organized 'Deal Flow' with HKTDC for the third year.
It drew more than 90 companies from 17 countries to meet potential partners and to seek collaboration opportunities. More than 300 one-to-one meetings were arranged. 20 HKVCA members including LPs and GPs actively participated.
The success of the 'Deal Flow' further strengthened Hong Kong as an international platform for companies around the world to develop business and investment deals. |

Ms. Huiyan Pui, General Director of Hong Kong China Chamber of Commerce (HKCHCC) visited HKVCA and held useful discussions with Mr. Johnny Chan, Chairman from HKVCA, Mr. Vincent Chan, President of HKVCA, Ms. Petrina Tam and Mr. John Li from the China Committee. Both parties expressed enthusiasm to further develop closer cooperation between mainland China and Hong Kong.

Hong Kong China Chamber of Commerce (HKCHCC) signed Memorandum of Understanding with HKVCA in Hong Kong. Mr. Conrad Tsang, Chairman of PRC Committee was invited as VIP guest at the Signing Ceremony. The MOU enhances collaboration in promoting business and economic development between Mainland China and Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Business Angel Network ("HKBAN"), a network established by the founding members HKVCA, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks and the technology transfer offices of the major universities in Hong Kong. HKBAN is a platform for angels and entrepreneurs to facilitate the funding and development of young businesses.
HKVCA is now soliciting the registration of angels who invest in seed and early stage opportunities raising up to HK$5,000,000. Please recommend colleagues, friends and investment partners who may be appropriate as angel investors.
